BIOPHYSICAL CHARACTERIZATION

For clients looking for someone with expertise in characterization of biomolecules, Legacy can provide a variety of analytical services on a per sample basis. Not only do we collect the data, but we can provide detailed interpretation of the results and help design experiments. These include calorimetric (isothermal titrating calorimetry, differential scanning calorimetry) and spectroscopic (circular dichroism, infrared, fluorescence, absorbance) methods for examining proteins and peptides in solution. For dried solids, Legacy can provide moisture determinations, solid-state characterization by DSC and Raman, and crystallinity assessment by x-ray powder diffraction. In addition, in cooperation with Dr. David Vander Velde, Director of the NMR facility at Caltech, we can provide NMR analysis of peptides and proteins as well.
